Residents are being encouraged to dress in yellow tomorrow to support an Island charity which helps victims of domestic abuse.
Victim Support Isle of Man is hosting its third annual 'Dress in Yellow Day' tomorrow (February 5) which the organisation announced last month would take place virtually due to the recent Covid-19 restrictions.
Kerry Gascoyne, Fundraising Officer of Victim Support, says: "We hope that the companies already registered to take part in this year’s event will be able to move their efforts online.
"This in its simplest format could be a team Zoom meeting on the day with everyone wearing yellow. For the more adventurous introducing a yellow fancy dress theme or sharing a funny story about a yellow household item with your team."
Between June and September 2020, the charity saw an 85 per cent rise in referrals and a 91 per cent increase in contacts compared to the previous three months.
Victim Support adds domestic abuse cases were up 72 per cent compared with the same period in 2019.
