Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson will ask House of Keys members to introduce a bill - which would enable adults who are terminally ill - to request assisted dying.
He'll ask to move 'that leave be given to introduce a bill to enable adults who are terminally ill to be provided at their request with specified assistance to end their own life; and for connected purposes.'
It comes following a recent poll - carried out by Dignity in Dying - showing 87 per cent of respondents support terminally ill, mentally competent adults being allowed choice of assisted death in their final months.
The House of Keys sits tomorrow morning at 10am.
