Douglas rates frozen for next financial year

Ratepayers in Douglas have had their rates frozen for the next financial year. 

The rate will remain at 402 pence in the pound - it follows Douglas Council's controversial decision to scrap the horse tram service.
Overall council leader David Christian says it's good news:
He says the council had to act to stop an "unacceptable level of burden" being placed on ratepayers - something that would have continued to increase this year:
