Douglas rate payers are going to have to hand over more money.
The budget has been announced today there is a modest rate increase.
The annual rate levy has been set at 387p.
Douglas council say for a typical three-bedroom semi detached property rate will go up to £448.90, a rise of £2.30.
That is still around one thousand pounds less than other areas in the North West like Liverpool and Manchester.
The council said in their budget that despite tough and testing economic times they will continue to invest in the development of Douglas.
They admitted that Douglas Council is sensitive to the current economic climate, locally, nationally and globally.
