A man’s appeared in court charged over an eight-kilo seizure of cannabis and three separate finds of cash at the Sea Terminal totalling almost £170,000.
Garry Paul Dentith of Princes Street in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
He entered no plea to three counts of entering into an arrangement to remove criminal property, and one each of possessing criminal cash and being concerned in supplying cannabis.
Prosecutor Roger Kane told the hearing handwriting and fingerprints found on packages of cash being smuggled off the Island by car connected Dentith to each shipment, and messages sent on Discord linked him to a £171,000 stash of cannabis found at another man’s address.
Mrs Hughes said the case was so serious it would have to be committed to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
She remanded the 41-year-old in custody and he’s next due to appear in court on November 22.
