A Douglas man who tried MDMA "to see what it was like" has appeared in court charged with drug-driving.
Bradley McKevitt of Osborne Terrace appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas Courthouse.
The 33 year old painter and decorator admitted driving whilst unfit through drugs on the New Castletown Road on July 12.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing a witness following McKevitt dialed 999 at around 9.30am after seeing him narrowly miss roadside hedges, weave onto the wrong side of the road and clip a kerb.
Blood tests later showed he had taken ecstasy and hay fever medication.
He was fined £1,000, ordered to pay costs of £125 and banned from the roads for a year.
