The Henry Bloom Noble Library is preparing to re-open, following the government’s latest easing of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
There may be a limited service initially, as Douglas Borough Council leader David Christian has expressed concern over the short notice of just one working day by the government.
Councillor Christian said: ‘We were, disappointed to learn only from the government’s daily briefing on Monday May 18 that libraries would be allowed to re-open from Wednesday May 20.'
‘All steps necessary are being taken to undertake a full COVID-19 risk assessment of the building and facilities and then implement measures to safeguard the health of our library staff and customers.'
