Douglas councillor raises concerns over cyclists using pedestrian areas

A member of Douglas City Council says they've received complaints about cyclists using non-vehicular areas, with concerns about speed and the risk to pedestrians.

In a Freedom of Information request, the councillor wanted to know who is responsible for enforcing cycling restrictions and how police and Douglas City Council coordinate on complaints and enforcement.

It also sought figures on warnings or enforcement action since January 2023, as well as information on CCTV use.

The Department of Infrastructure says it doesn't hold the information and has directed the councillor to the Isle of Man Constabulary for more information.
