Douglas Council says it's not yet going to call off one of the capital's biggest events, despite it bringing no economic benefit to the town.
A report on the future of Douglas Carnival said traders don't get any significant business boost and road closures mean many actually face disruption.
The report also notes the annual event, which has run it is current form since 2014, needs a large number of staff and won't be able to park floats near the Sefton Hotel after the promenade refurbishment work.
Councillors said rather than axe it altogether, they'll wait for a report about a possible new format for the carnival.
