The Department of Infrastructure says it understands the frustration of some commuters from the South of the Island into Douglas.
Highways Services has issued a statement as it accepts some commutes are currently taking 15-20 minutes longer for residents at certain times.
It's in light of three large projects currently underway - the private sector investments for housing in Ballasalla, broadband fibre network on Cooil Road in Braddan as well as DOI improvements on Richmond Hill.
Officials say investments like these are 'a positive sign of growth and confidence in the Island' and 'are welcomed to help secure our future prosperity'.
They add they don't determine the time and scale of private projects and restrictions on the construction industry due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
