A new proposal for a £475,000 scheme in the north of the Island hopes to reduce disruption to the public.
The Department of Infrastructure and Manx Utilities have revised plans to refurbish Lezayre Road in Ramsey.
The DOI's original objectives were to improve carriageway and drainage systems but the new proposals aim to extend the lifespan of the road, enhance safety and introduce a cycle lane wherever possible.
Construction is hoped to start in June next year - working around the TT and Festival of Motorcycling.
