Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall says his department has 1,750 traffic cones in stock.
He faced a question for written reply from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse about DOI traffic equipment.
Mr Crookall said as well as cones, the DOI has 1,550 pedestrian barriers, 30 mobile fences and eight sets of temporary traffic light units.
And he added the cost of leasing extra equipment had risen from £10,032 in 2018 to £22,562 last year.
