The Department of Infrastructure's reminding people they can pick up supplies of salt from Civic Amenity Sites around the Island.
It's as the Island faces sub-zero temperatures and snow over the next few days.
Storm Caroline is due to arrive this evening, bringing wintry showers and snow right across the Island.
On Twitter, the DOI says people can help prepare for the weather by picking up free supplies of salt.
