A call has gone out to dog owners to ensure their animals are kept on the leash when walking by rivers.
The message comes following an incident this week where a puppy was swept along the Sulby River.
Luckily the dog was located safe and well, however his owner sustained a serious leg injury whilst trying to rescue him.
Recently in the UK two persons have drowned after trying to retrieve pets that have accidentally gone into rivers.
There is currently no further update as to the condition of the injured man.
