The Health Minister says comparisons between government funding of hospices here and abroad must be made with caution.
Last week, Hospice Isle of Man announced it's cutting services because of costs, pointing out the 24 percent of government support it receives is lower than UK and Jersey counterparts.
In the House of Keys this week, Ms Christian made an urgent statement reassuring the public key services would be protected.
She said differences in the charities' structures means the Island gets a higher percetage of funding in practice:
