Make sure you’re prepared to travel abroad this summer.
That’s the message from the Department of Health and Social Care, reminding people to ensure they have suitable travel insurance when going off-island.
Due to a long-standing health agreement with the UK, Manx residents are entitled to emergency treatment free of charge.
However, government is unable to assist financially for repatriation from the UK – which is why insurance is required.
It says that's why it's vital that the public understand the importance of having adequate insurance cover when they travel.
