The Department of Health and Social Care is defending its staff expenses figures.
In response to a Tynwald question from Onchan MHK Julie Edge, the department says its staff claimed nearly £4 million for expenses between 2012 and 2017.
During the five years, 63 per cent of that was for staff travelling in their own vehicles to work.
A further 28 per cent was spent on off-Island training and development.
The department says while the figure may seem high, it's a vital part of the services it provides.
