 
                                    The Department of Home Affairs has issued a statement following an inquest into the death of a man who died while in prison.
Craig Jack Anderson was 28-years-old when he passed away November 25 2022, after being arrested for wounding with intent while drunk in July of the same year.
He was sentenced to five years in prison the day before his death.
Regarding his death the DHA said in a statement that it's thoughts are with Mr Anderson's family, friends and all of those affected by the tragedy and that the department accepts the recommendations made by the Prison and Probation Ombudsman, and reaffirm that the safety and wellbeing of those in care of the Prison is paramount.
