Department warns of major meat issues

DEFA believes the Island’s meat production will seriously suffer as a result of the bad weather.

It comes after heavy snow saw significant amounts of livestock wiped out, especially in the west.

Hundreds of animals are thought to have died in the freezing conditions which left many sheep and cattle trapped in snow drifts.

Minister Phil Gawne says the situation will now have a knock-on effect on production (audio):
