The Department of Economic Development says it's puzzled by complaints over charges for TT grandstand seats during practice week - because they've been in place for some time.
On social media this week, a number of people criticised the department for charging £5 to watch the practice sessions from the Grandstand.
But departmental member with responsibility for motorsport Rob Callister MHK says it's not a new policy.
He says it was introduced because of overcrowding:
