Department of Transport and the Island Road Transport Association Have Crunch Meeting
There have been some positive outcomes from a recent crunch meeting between the Department of Transport and the Island Road Transport Association.
It was held in the first place to address the Departments recent decision to award a major contract to an off-Island haulage firm regarding the Airport Runway Project.
Minster David Anderson conceded he could not see why the selection of suitable local hauliers had not been carried out, but felt the meeting as a whole helped to strengthen relations between his Department and the IRTA.
