Police confirm identity of 17-year-old Ramsey girl

The girl who died in Ramsey on Friday has now been identified as 17-year-old Tanya Louise Hughes, of Gladstone Avenue.

Ambulance Crews found Tanya unconscious at an address in Ormley Avenue, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nobles hospital.

A 35-year-old man who was present at the address was arrested and interviewed over the weekend at Police Headquarters; he’s now been released on bail.

A post mortem was conducted yesterday, as yet the cause of death has not been ascertained and further tests will be required.

Police have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
