The way nurture provision is delivered to students across the Island is set to change.
The stand-alone nurture groups, traditionally led by teachers, are being replaced - with schools set to adopt more of a ‘whole school’ approach.
Nurture provision is offered to pupils who may have extra social or emotional difficulties.
It’s thought this new approach will result in significant savings, as it stands the vast majority of the division’s £8.1 million budget is spent on specialist staff training.
Chief executive of Education and Children, Stuart Dobson, says it's not an example of the department cutting the service:
