There are plans to extend the closure of a main road in St Johns until no later than the end of April.
The Department of Infrastructure is carrying out a long-term redevelopment of Curragh Road and says it's taking longer than expected because ground conditions on parts of the stretch are worse than previously thought.
Officials also say other unforeseen issues have come up including a culvert collapsing, a water main having to be diverted and remodelling the junctions with the Heritage Trail.
However, the Department says the aims of the project are being achieved and is thanking residents in the area for the patience whilst work continues.
