Crescent nightclub to open this weekend

The Crescent will reopen in the former Paramount City building in Douglas

The former Paramount City nightclub will officially re-open under new ownership this weekend.

The Crescent entertained a private party last week but will be open to the public for New Year’s Eve celebrations on Saturday.

The building is being leased from the Sefton Group by the company H Dog.

It’s being aimed at an older crowd and the new owners are hopeful the site can once again become the most popular nightspot in Douglas.

The concept behind the new venue is to bring something different to the Douglas nightlife scene.

H Dog Director and local DJ Stuart Hampson said: "The Crescent want to offer something that will appeal to all age groups.

"With our newly re-furbished club we hope to offer theme nights on the top floor such as tribute acts, comedians etc followed by music to suit an older crowd, with the ground floor catering for the latest in chart and dance music.

"We are also openly available for private functions such as christenings, birthday parties as well as being an ideal alternative venue for corporate and charity functions”.
