The return of non-essential retail on Island has been welcomed by the leader of Douglas Borough Council.
David Christian says exiting lockdown gradually 'won't be without it's challenges' but the past few months have shown the resilience, patience and understanding from residents during the pandemic.
Mr Christian has also praised the Department for Enterprise's cautious strategy on the matter, adding the latest easing of certain COVID-19 restrictions 'is about preparation not celebration'.
Government has already issued guidance on how people can shop safely including keeping two metres from others, shopping alone where possible, respecting store staff and using contactless payments where you can.
