Council defends culling horse tram service

Douglas Borough Council says the decision to cull the horse tram service has been "very difficult".

It's announced today that it will no longer operate the iconic transport link because it's placing an "unacceptable burden" on the ratepayers in the town.

He says whilst the council recognises the important contribution the service has made to the Island it has to make difficult decisions - which aren't always popular:
