A construction worker who was killed while at work died from crush injuries to his head and body.
The inquest into the death of Charles Gareth Sowden was opened and adjourned at Douglas Courthouse this morning.
The 55-year-old Douglas man died on May 1st while working at a sewage treatment facility on Balleira Road in Kirk Michael.
Coroner John Needham said the wind had caused part of a shipping container to blow onto him trapping him.
Colleagues pulled him from underneath the six metre fibreglass sheet, which had a girder on top, and performed CPR but to no avail.
He was pronounced dead by paramedics at 11.42am.
A postmortem examination showed that Mr Sowden suffered multiple injuries including a fractured skull and ribs as well as pelvic and abdominal injuries.
