Cannabis could take its first steps toward decriminalisation this week - as Tynwald debates the Island's future strategy on substance misuse.
A report on drug and alcohol abuse is due to be laid before the court when it sits in Douglas.
In it, Health Minister David Ashford says he wants to consider legalising cannabis possession using evidence from other countries.
And the Department of Health and Social Care will review evidence about using cannabis for medicinal purposes.
