Police searched 22-year-old Jake Corrin's home on Heather Crescent on September 6th - they recovered more than five grams of the drug.
At Douglas Courthouse, he admitted possessing the class B substance - the court heard he'd told police the drug was for his own personal use.
His advocate told the court Corrin had been using it for 'anxiety problems' but now realised he should seek 'alterative therapies' instead.
Imposing the two-year conditional discharge Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told Corrin: "Keep out of trouble for those two years - if you don't this matter will come back to court."
She also ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £125 - the cannabis will be destroyed.
