A court’s heard a man was so drunk he couldn’t remember spitting at police or punching a total stranger outside a Douglas restaurant.
Liam Luke Kaighin of no fixed abode appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse, when he admitted assault, assaulting police, resisting police, and possessing cannabis.
The court heard on July 23 Kaighin punched a man in the neck on Empire Terrace in Douglas after drunkenly believing he’d stolen his mobile phone.
The 23 year old later spat at two police officers as he was arrested and taken into custody.
Magistrates ordered him to do 200 hours of community service and pay a total of £150 compensation to his three victims.
