Committee plans for Equality Bill would 'kill it' claim MHKs 

MHKs have rejected plans to send new equality legislation to a committee for further review saying it would 'kill it'. 

That's despite a proposal from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper to do just that - the Equality Bill was read for the second time in the House of Keys this week. 

He failed to gain support for his plan after arguing, amongst other things, that new MHKs hadn't had time to properly consider it:
