Port Erin Commissioners are looking to rent the town's bowling green for £400 per year to the Breagle Glen Bowling Club.
As the lease is longer than seven years, the local authority needs the permission of the Department of Infrastructure to do so.
Commissioners say the club wants to improve the facility at St Georges Crescent with toilets, indoor mats and new shelters.
To do this, they say it needs the security of the long-term lease.
