Garff commissioners are to write to the Island's chief constable after a serious incident in Maughold last month.
A board meeting last week saw a discussion about the incident and disquiet among local residents.
Members heard the community had expressed a range of concerns.
The local authority said it would write to Chief Constable Russ Foster asking him to do more to reassure local people.
