Garff Commissioners will discuss putting three members out of a job at their next meeting in May.
During a meeting of the board last week, it was suggested the local authority should have six members instead of its current nine.
There's also the possibility the area will become a single ward rather than the three in place at the moment.
The issue will be discussed at the authority's annual general meeting next month.
