Commissioner announces as next general election candidate

An Onchan commissioner's become the next person to declare their intention to stand in this year's general election.

At 21, Gabriella Corkish says she expects scrutiny about her age and experience, but argues this should be judged by what she can deliver - pointing to her track record in local government.

Among the priorities listed in her declaration letter include protecting the triple lock pension, maintaining winter fuel support and promoting food security.

The Isle of Man's general election will be held on Thursday, September 24.
