Cocaine smugglers to appeal sentences over £100k plot

Two men who were jailed for more than 26 years for their part in a plot to smuggle £100,000 of cocaine to the Island will appear in court again in October.

Samsha Sanghera of Warwickshire was jailed for 12 years and nine months while Ross Alexander Beggs-Cairney of Douglas was jailed for 14 years after fingerprints linked them to around a kilogramme of the class A drug.

Both men are now appealing their sentences.

They're due to appear before Judge of Appeal Cross and Deemster Hopmeier for a half-day hearing on Monday, October 19.
