All Saints Church in Lonan has been closed after it was found to be "dangerously unsafe".
The whole electrical system is a potential risk to life and could cause a fire - as a result the church has been advised to shut off the power supply immediately.
Woodworm has also been found in the floor deeming part of it unusable without immediate remedial action - the building also needs structural work to make it safe and weather tight.
