Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas has been sacked from a department after calling for the chief minister to resign.
He's lost his post at the Department of Health and Social Care after declaring his candidacy for the role of Chief Minister in a recent vote of no confidence in Tynwald.
Mr Cannan took over as minister for the department following the resignation of Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper.
Mr Cannan says Mr Thomas undermined their relationship.
