The nine-year-old had fallen approximately 12 feet from a car park on Westmoreland Road and landed between the car park and a steep embankment.
Firefighters from Douglas attended at around 8.30pm and used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the boy who had impaled his leg.
Once free he was taken to Noble’s Hospital, with part of the bar left in his leg, so it could be removed.
It’s not thought his injuries are life threatening.
