The government says Chief Minister Howard Quayle will obey all coronavirus regulations when he returns from a meeting of British Isles leaders.
Mr Quayle travelled to Northern Ireland to take part in the latest British-Irish Council meeting.
But after people spotted him mixing without a facemask and without social distancing, the government said all rules were being followed.
On Twitter, a spokesman said the meeting had a rigorous protocol of pre-testing, and other mitigation measures are in place - and Mr Quayle will follow the Island's regime when he returns.
The Northern Ireland Executive has a rigorous protocol of pre-testing and other mitigation measures in place in line with the law of Northern Ireland. The Chief Minister will of course follow the Isle of Man's regime when he returns to the Island.
