The Chief Minister says he's hopeful that new MHK Chris Thomas will be looking to work with government to help overcome current challenges.
The financial analyst secured the Douglas West seat last week in a by-election taking over from Geoff Corkish who was elected to the Legislative Council.
Government has recently faced criticism over the Sefton bailout deal and new evidence relating to the Kirk Michael land swap.
