The chief minister says the government constantly reminds people about the benefits of buying local produce.
This week in Tynwald, Alf Cannan MHK was quizzed by Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse about when he last "buy Manx" campaign was.
Mr Cannan told the court there were a number of different campaigns and events which promote shopping locally.
And he said two such campaigns had been held recently:
