Chief Minister Alf Cannan says private companies decide which territories they'll cover under an employment scheme.
In Tynwald this week he faced questions from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse about Employer of Record providers.
He wanted to know what the government's doing to make sure the third-party employers recognise the Isle of Man.
Mr Cannan said although that decision rests with the businesses themselves, the government is speaking to them about coverage:
