Chief Minister Faced With Questions About Budget Cuts

The Chief Minister has been dealing with a barrage of questions in the sitting of Tynwald this morning about the major slash in the yearly budget.

He was asked by Douglas North member Bill Henderson if he had impressed upon the UK the serious implications for the Island that their decision has had.

According to the Chief Minister extensive work had been done to ensure the UK fully understood, as a consequence the UK have agreed to implement the change over two financial years, opposed to one.

In response to a question about budgets Mr Brown said all of the Government's Departments have been asked to review their budgets with a view of making a 15% redection.
