Chance for TV stardom this weekend

There's a chance to win a place in pop's hall of fame this weekend - with auditions from a reality TV show.

The X Factor is on the Island looking for contestants to follow in the footsteps of Sam Black, who reached the late stages of last year's show before being knocked out.

On Friday, the programme will be in Quids Inn on Douglas Promenade from 8pm with pre-booked audition places.

And on Saturday, Douglas Council will host open auditions at the pavilion in Noble's Park from 11am to 4pm, when people can just turn up.
