Mark Cavendish is out of the Tour de France, may not compete in the Commonwealth Games for Team Isle of Man and could be out if action for up to six weeks.
It follows a crash in the final 250 metres of the opening stage of the Tour on Saturday, when he tried to overtake Australian racer, Simon Gerrans.
The resulting injuries are dislocated shoulder and ligament damage, throwing his inclusion in the Commonwealth Games into doubt.
He's says it's no longer medically possible to start for Team Omega - as a Team doctor is said to have revealed he's 'likely to need surgery'.
Despite the crash, he did manage to finish the race to his mother's hometown of Harrogate.
