Cavendish favourite for opening Tour de France stage

'Good luck in the Tour de France on our national day!'

That's the message the Chief Minister has for Mark Cavendish today - as he attempts to achieve his dream by winning the Tour.

The first event begins in Leeds and will end in Cavendishs' mother's hometown of Harrogate - where he hopes to wear the yellow jersey; which is awarded to the rider with the fastest time.
