Cavendish Wins Stage 20 Of Tour De France - Petacchi Takes Green Jersey
Mark Cavendish was on top form on the last day of the Tour De France sprinting to first place, but ultimately it wasn't enough to secure the Green Jersey.
For Cav to have got the Jersey he would have had to have won with Allesandro Petacchi finishing outside the top six, unfortunately Petacchi finished in second place behind Cav meaning he took the Jersey by only 9 points.
The Manx Missile had a troubling start to the tour, but since his first victory his form well and truly returned.
The recent string of victories were all the more impressive given he's been battling Bronchitis.
Alberto Contador was the overall winner of the tour, for the third time.
Today's victory made it 15 stage wins of his short career, putting him joint sixth in the Tour De France record books.
He said storming down the last straight in Paris is the stuff of cyclists' dreams. (audio above)
