Flat Short Route Should Favour Cav\'s Sprinting Style
A win in today’s Tour De France stage is essential for Mark Cavendish if he wants to win the Green Jersey this year.
Yesterdays stage marked more dissapointment for Cav who finished in 25th place with rival Thor Hushovd taking the victory and boosting his chances of taking the Green Jersey for the second consecutive year.
It’s his fourth opportunity to use his sprinting talents to their full capabilities as it’s another flat course, this time considerably shorter than the others running from Cambrai to Reims at 153km.
Cav told 3FM prior to the event that his quiet season was due to him only having one main goal this year, securing the Green Jersey, if he comes away from the Tournament empty handed it will cap off a poor season so far for the Manxman.
